The 3C17700 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 delivers high-performance, feature-rich Gigabit Ethernet switching in a simple, affordable platform, making it an excellent solution for small to midsize networks with growing bandwidth requirements. It's also perfect for large enterprises that require economical Gigabit Ethernet switching for the data center, server farm, or wiring closet.

The 12-port switch supports traditional Category 5 copper cabling. You can mix and match both fiber and copper gigabit media using optional gigabit switching modules.

The 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 family provides advanced Layer 2 switching capabilities (such as multiple priority queues per port and 802.1p-based classification), virtual LANs and VLAN tagging, standards-based multicast filtering support, and seven groups of RMON. The family also supports inherent resiliency features such as Spanning Tree, resilient links, and link aggregation, allowing you to build robust, fault-tolerant, redundant network backbones.

The advanced ASIC architecture provides industry-leading gigabit switching performance, plus wire-speed IP routing, to support future Layer 3 switching, via a free software upgrade.

3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 products come with a Lifetime Limited warranty that includes fans and power supplies.

Connectors
Twelve autonegotiating 100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T ports configured as AutoMDIX (crossover).
